TexasMedicaid
They
say that everything is big in Texas, and that goes so as
well with the aid that they give to families and individuals
through the medicaid program. Medicaid was established in
order to help low income individuals to afford medical treatment
that they would otherwise be unable to afford.
The federal government established the medicaid program
in 1965 through the Social Security Act. Participation in
the medicaid program is voluntary but at this time all 50
states take part in the program. It is administered on the
state level. In Texas medicaid is administered through the
Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
* Tip - If your prescription medicine is covered under
the federal rebate program it should be covered by your
medicaid benefits. It is also possible that some over the
counter medicines may also be covered, but that is on an
individual basis.
