SCMedicaid
The
state of South Carolina, in cooperation with the federal
government offers the medicaid program in order to help
low income individuals and families to be able to afford
proper medical care.
The medicaid program was founded in 1965 as a part of the
Social Security Act and is administered and partially funded
on the state level. Although the federal program is called
Medicaid it is often called by different names from state
to state. For example, the state of Tennessee has TennCare.
* Tip - Just because a doctor is enrolled in the medicaid
program does not mean that he is required to bill medicaid
for your medical help. You should ask your doctor if they
are going to bill medicaid before they do anything that
you may be charged for.
