NYMedicaid

The state of New York, in voluntary cooperation with the federal government, takes part in the US insurance program for low income individuals and families known as medicaid. The medicaid program has been in existence since 1965

Although the medicaid program is a federally funded program it is administered and also partially funded on a state level. Being part of the medicaid program is voluntary, but all of the states are currently taking part in the program. The state of New York administers the medicaid program through the New York Department of Health.
