KYMedicaid
The
state of Kentucky, in order to help families with low incomes
participates in the federally funded insurance program medicaid.
It has helped thousands of people to afford medical care
that they would not have otherwise been able to afford.
The medicaid program was established in 1965 under the
Social Security Act in order to help families with low incomes
and disabled and aged individuals to be able to afford proper
medical care. Although it is a federal program it is administered
on a state level. The state of Kentucky uses the Cabinet
for Health and family services to take care of the medicaid
program.
* Tip - Don't let anyone use your medicaid card. Not only
will you lose your privilege to use the card yourself but
you may end up in jail.
