KentuckyMedicaid
In
order to help those that are having a difficult time paying
their medical bills the state of Kentucky is participating
in the federal medicaid program. It is designed to help
low-income families to get adequate medical care.
The federal government started the medicaid program in
1965, but although it is a federal program the individual
states are responsible for administering the program on
the state level. In Kentucky the Medicaid program is administered
by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
* Tip - You will be given a medicaid card that you should
keep with you at all times. Show this card to the doctor
before they do any work with you that would cost money in
case they do not participate in the program.
