IowaMedicaid
The
state of Iowa provides help to those families and individuals
that are unable to afford proper medical insurance. This
is done through the federal medicaid program that gives
persons such as those that are disabled, and women and children
that have a low income and qualify for assistance.
The medicaid program was established in 1965 as a part
of the social security act. The program was meant to give
low income families a helping hand with medical expenses.
Although it is a federal program, it is administered on
the state level. The state of Iowa currently uses the Iowa
Department of Human Services to handle the service.
* Tip - Medical help through the medicaid program is available
to people with a medical need. It is not meant to handle
procedures that are not necessary.
