Georgia offers their medicaid program for individuals that are not able to afford the high cost of medical treatment. Some of the individuals that are able to avail themselves of this program are disables individuals, women, children, the blind and ageing individuals.

The medicaid program is a federal insurance program that was established in order to provide low income families and individuals with medical financial assistance. The individual states administer the funds and handle the programs. The state of Georgia uses the Department of Community Health in order to administer the medicaid program.

* Tip - The medicaid program will not provide 100% of the funding for adults. It is based on a sliding scale according to your income.
